Purpose
This module is dedicated to help you manage your caseload and navigate difficult issues that arise in practice. You may have been working as a drug access navigator for some time and already feel you have methods and techniques that work well for you. That’s ok. The content in this Module are suggested practice guidelines only. They are built from case management principles and methods, as well as ethical guidelines used for other helping professions. Please review as you have the other Modules.
The purpose of this module is to help you:
- Collaborate on cases with a variety of partners
- Manage caseload demands & track workload
- Navigate ethical issues and difficult situations
Learning Objectives
By the end of Module 6 you will be able to:
- Negotiate case responsibilities with care partners
- Navigate competing stakeholder priorities (including cost concerns from the patient)
- Create methods for effective appointment and caseload management
- Identify key data indicators for tracking performance and case outcomes
- Discuss the potential of coverage loss/refusal with patient and the care team
- Describe how to approach ethical issues that may arise with care partners
- Demonstrate an understanding of the key principles of case and community advocacy
